[...]an important partner for us when it comes to assessing biodiversity in the forest.

Dr. Bastian Schauer & Dr. Thomas Kudernatsch - Bavarian State Institute for Forests and Forestry (LWF) - May 2021

The company AIM carried out the metabarcoding analysis of insects from cross-vanes window traps for our studies on the influence of forest conversion on various species groups. Mr. Morinière and his team provided us with advice and support during the entire course of the project, be it with questions about sampling, preparation or transport of the samples or evaluation of the data. The analyses were available within a very short time and the results were presented in a clear and user-friendly way. The AIM team was always able to answer the questions arising during the evaluation and interpretation of the data in a highly qualified manner and to our complete satisfaction. Thus, AIM has become an important partner for us when it comes to assessing biodiversity in the forest.

Professional and reliable

Carsten Spisla – GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel – February 2020

AIM has now successfully examined some cell material and water samples for their species composition and DNA residues (eDNA), whereby they absolutely convinced with their professionalism, reliability and customer friendliness. The AIM team is available to answer any questions, deal with any problems and willingly provide information on the background and details of the analyzes. Nowadays no longer be taken for granted. The support of AIM always responds to queries or other concerns within a very short time and you can tell that they will take care of any problems as soon as the schedule allows.

I can only say, keep it up! And would definitely be happy to continue and expand the collaboration with AIM.

[...] AIM have become a valuable partner in dealing with the identification of different insect samples.

Dr. Simon Thorn – University of Würzburg, Ecological Field Station Fabrikschleichach – February 2020

For us as a newly founded and young research group, AIM have become a valuable partner in dealing with the identification of different insect samples. They are always a competent advisor for the preparation and storage of insect samples and for the evaluation of the data obtained. The analysis spectrum ranges from metabarcoding of malaise trap samples from Central European forests to the evaluation of individual animals for species descriptions. We are particularly pleased with the uncomplicated contact and the friendly and qualified information, which is also understandable for non-NGS experts.

Competent, interested team with exciting methodology

Dr. Alexander Wirth – Initiator Langenholzen Natur entdecken – January 2020

I became aware of AIM - Advanced Identification Methods- at a specialist conference on civil sciences in January 2019. After I presented our research project on “Blue tit sleep in a nesting box”, a listener advised me to contact AIM with my many open questions. I immediately got in touch, which was always answered quickly, very friendly and competently. Together with the AIM team we worked out a procedure how we could analyze the food composition of the sleeping blue tit in a winter season and soon the first samples arrived at AIM. Since the standard protocol failed for these samples, AIM independently tried to optimize the sample preparation and re-analyzed the samples. The results are and were very exciting and the collaboration is very harmonious and constructive. AIM is already analyzing the samples of the blue tit in the second season and we look forward to further projects with AIM.

My expectations of the service were truly exceeded.

Florian Schmid - Student at the Hochschule für Forstwirtschaft Rottenburg

For the purpose of my Master's thesis I deal with the identification of bark beetles. Since these are sometimes very tiny or are damaged by the removal from the bark, it is not always easy to identify these clearly. Here, the genetic analysis of Aimethods was the right way to get reliable results. I became aware of the presence at the Entomology Congress in Halle, Germany 2019. My expectations of the service were truly exceeded. Very friendly and competent, I was informed about the analysis method. In addition, I was surprised how fast and uncomplicated the data exchange, the analysis and the transmission of the concrete results worked.
Finally, I express my recommendation for this competent team! Keep it up! - July 2019

In AIM we have found a partner whose quality standards and philosophy suits ours!

Leonhard Ségur-Cabanac - BIO-TECH Betriebshygiene GmbH

As consultants to the most demanding food companies, we need to act professionally, accurately and often very quickly.

A very professional collaboration, always characterized by a high level of competence and reliability.

Dr. Alexander Miehr - Infineon Technologies AG

As part of my responsibilities at Infineon, I was able to win over the AIM team for a very critical project as a competent partner. A high degree of professionalism in communication in a global environment was as crucial to success as clearly understandable results and their interpretation.

The communication on sampling, preparation and the recommendations for the procedure were very precise and comprehensible and understandable for experts as well as non-specialists at any time.

Due to the timely and competent implementation and analysis of the analyzes, we were able to resolve this topic quickly and for all concerned very satisfyingly and above all completely.

A very professional collaboration, always characterized by a high level of competence and reliability.

We look forward to further cooperation!

Johannes Burmeister - LfL Bavarian State Agency of Agriculture

As part of a project on the species endowment of perennial energy crops, the State Institute of Agriculture has analyzed mixed insect samples with the aid of NGS Metabarcoding at AIM. The handling of the sample transfer and the analyzes were extremely fast, transparent and to our complete satisfaction. Special attention should be paid to the great attention of AIM staff on specific questions and the explanation of the test results. Previously difficult to reach treasures in by-catches could be lifted in the future with the help of the new methods. We look forward to further cooperation! - May 2018

I am very satisfied with the service and will gladly make use of it again in future projects.

Mag. Dominique Zimmermann - Scientist at NHM Vienna

In September 2017 I asked AIM – Advanced Identification Methods to DNA-barcode 150 samples for a project on Austrian bees. I have had lost much time before as another institution has had the samples for several months and provided a very low success rate in the end. I sent a mix of samples in alcohol and up to 10-year-old samples from the dry collection. The processing of the samples by AIM was perfect and professional. Within two weeks, I had the DNA-barcodes of over 80% of the samples. I am very satisfied with the service and will gladly make use of it again in future projects. - May 2018

The commitment of AIM's young and dynamic team in finding new solutions is remarkable.

Dr. Gabriele Leonhardt - Nationalpark Berchtesgaden

In the current research project "Sources in the Bavarian National Parks as a Pointer of Climate Change", AIM GmbH is commissioned to investigate biodiversity in source substrates. The aim is to find out which species live in selected sources of both Bavarian national parks. These modern genetic methods are used in the project in addition to the classical determination work of taxonomists. The results are exciting, although the technique is still in the optimization phase for special animal groups. The commitment of AIM's young and dynamic team in finding new solutions is remarkable. Very positive is the intensive exchange about the results and the suggestions about further procedures and possible optimizations. The communication is always reliable and polite, the processing of the order to the result went smoothly. - February 2018

AIM has proved to be a dynamic, flexible and very research-oriented company with whose services we are very satisfied.

Prof. Dr. Jörg Müller - Bavarian Forest National Park

The research department of the national park and the working group of Prof. Müller at the University of Würzburg have been working together with the company AIM for 2 years now. The services of AIM are used for Sanger and NGS identification in a wide variety of arthropod samples. AIM has proved to be a dynamic, flexible and very research-oriented company with whose services we are very satisfied. Also special requests, which originated from the research enterprise, were fulfilled thereby easily. The analyzes allow insights into the biodiversity of different habitats on which further research projects and basics for a long-term monitoring can be established. The results have already published various scientific papers on new species descriptions, community analyzes and ecological management aspects.- January 2018

We are more than satisfied with the reconditioning and the service of AIM and can recommend the laboratory without restrictions.

Simone Meyer - Semhof. Biologisch Wertvoll

We became aware of AIM's recommendation and have had some of our animal feeds tested for quality assurance. Among other things, the aim was to define the variety of plants and to make any pests and poisonous plants visible in the feed. Even if not exactly cheap: We are more than satisfied with the reconditioning and the service of AIM and can recommend the laboratory without restrictions. Even a few animals were found amazingly (when mowing with collected flies). It is very hard to go new ways and explore new topics. Thank you also for the good advice and cooperative cooperation! - January 2018

When comparative anatomy analysis is not enough, when I have an identification problem, AIM guys are an excellent support for my research!

Dr. Giovanni Timossi - Entomo Research

When comparative anatomy analysis is not enough, when I have an identification problem, AIM guys are an excellent support for my research! I found courtesy, competence and availability in the staff of AIM! And a fast and punctual service! - January 2018
